You’re Always Coming When I’m Going

You’re Always Coming When I’m Going, a group exhibition and magazine launch of Silverfish 002: Transition

June 18 – June 22, 2022

Gales Gallery (York University)

Featuring works by Anna Daliza, Irum, Lina Wu, and Saysah Yoroonatii

You’re Always Coming When I’m Going considers transitions, both personal and historical, through representations of grief, relationality, consumption, and desire. To transition is to cross or go beyond, to enter a state of liminal looming uncertainty. The works in this exhibition were created during an eight-week residency program through Silverfish, a collective and working group propelled by interdisciplinary practice and collective reading, writing, and making. Through these modalities, the artists in this exhibition created work rooted in relationality and care. Anna Daliza, Irum, Lina Wu, and Saysah Yoroonatii present works that resonate deeply with a moment characterized by transformation, ambiguity, and upheaval.
